I’m New / What to Expect

Thinking about visiting? Here’s everything you’d want to know.

OPENING

Walking into a church for the first time can feel awkward. We want to take the mystery out of it. Here’s what Sunday morning looks like at North Toxaway Baptist.

WHAT TIME TO ARRIVE

Aim to get here 10–15 minutes before the service you’re attending. If you need help finding the sanctuary or the children’s wing, someone at the door will be happy to walk you there.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear what’s comfortable. On any given Sunday you’ll see suits, ties, jeans, boots, and flannel — sometimes on the same person. There’s no dress code.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SERVICE

Our Sunday morning worship service lasts about an hour and ten minutes. It includes:

  • Singing — a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs
  • Prayer and a welcome from Pastor Tommy
  • A scripture reading and a sermon — about 30 minutes
  • An opportunity to respond, give, or come forward for prayer

You will not be asked to stand up, introduce yourself, or do anything that would single you out as a visitor.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Children are welcome in the worship service. We have a nursery where babies, toddlers, and preschoolers are welcome.
On Sunday morning, kids can attend Sunday School at 9:45.

WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT GIVING?

You’re our guest — please don’t feel any obligation to give. The offering is for our church family. If you’d like to know more about how to give when you’re ready, you can do that online any time.

HOW DO I FIND YOU?

We’re at 51 Slick Fisher Road, just off Highway 64 in Lake Toxaway. There’s a large, paved lot with easy parking.
