I was up early leaving Jefferson, SC and the parsonage of Charlesboro Baptist Church headed to Florence, SC to say goodbye to a church member and comfort his family. I was listening to Dr Johnny Hunt preach a message I had purchased from a pastors conference. Susan called me on my flip phone and said are you listening to the radio? There are planes crashing into buildings. We are being attacked. I was almost in Florence at the Hospice facility and got a few details before heading inside. I spent the day with the family and no news. Headed home late in the day I gathered more details. I called for a special prayer night and the church was packed. More people than ever before for any service, wedding or community event. For weeks every Tuesday night prayer the church was full. Within about 3 months it was just me and Jerry Taylor. Jerry lived next door to me and never missed anything at church including prayer when it was just he and I.
25 years later and we have elected a Muslim Mayor of the very city that was attacked. Muslims are running and being elected to national and local office. I know the argument not all Muslims are violent. I know this the Muslim religion is the violent non inclusive religion in the world. It is the most oppressive. Their goal is to put into place sharia law, eliminate free speech, and destroy Judaism and Christianity. The are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They appear as moderate and tolerate until in control and then the true agenda takes over.
25 years later Socialism and Communism are gaining traction again. How anyone can be deceived by this political and economic policy is even beyond comprehension. You cannot name anyplace or time these policies have been successful in the world. Karl Marx and his friends were non-working, non-productive academic elitest espousing a new utopia. In my reading lately I have studied Marx, Lenin, and Stalin and their various rolls in bringing to fruition Marx’s ideal utopia. In reading Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Alexander Solzheneitsn you read 10’s of millions died or starved in labor camps across Siberia. Mao leading the communist revolution in China starved or imprisoned 100’s of millions.
Islam, socialism and communism have one common denominator, death. Do it our way our die. There is no value of the human existence. Agree, comply or die.
In our nation we now allow murderers, rapist, and thieves to have more rights than their victims. Our justice system has turned into a revolving door. I’m sorry, when you take someone’s else’s rights by murder, rape, or violence you lose your rights. You have made it perfectly clear you cannot abide by normal societies rules and you should lose your privilege to participate in that society. Thieves, stealing from your home, corporate stealing billions, or those stealing from Medicare, Medicaid, social security, and hospice are the lowest of the low. Yet they are rarely held accountable.
Our nation and our leaders are not perfect nor am I. Yet we are still the freest nation in the world politically and religiously, even though we have lost some of those freedoms over the last 30 years or so.
Churches, conservative churches, were once the foundation of communities. Even if there were areas without without those churches the influence of moral values founded in Christianity led people to live decent lives. Today conservative Christianity is the most ridiculed and rejected of all ideas. Maybe we deserve it.
Rememeber the full church praying the day of 9/11? If I called a prayer meeting today we would have less than a dozen people come. We are comfortable. We wear our Christianity as a warm sweater to make us feel good in this cold world but not enough to tell the world Jesus saves! Not enough to speak out against sin. Not enough to care about our neighbor. And not enough to inconvenience our schedules. No wonder Christianity is ridiculed we don’t live like we truly believe it. We speak against lgbtq agenda but tolerate adultery. We speak against abortion but rarely embrace the single moms. We speak against greed and poverty but hold fast to our horded riches. We talk about the wicked but tolerate the darkness. We condemn the youth for their foolishness but yet fail to show them the way.
Wake up church! Wake up Christians!
We need men steady, resolute, protective, and faithful. We need ladies caring, compassionate, kind, and faithful. We need young people determined, strong, resilient, and faithful!
We are not Americans who happen to be Christians. We are Christians blessed to be Americans!
