Isaiah 55:10-11
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,

it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Living in the temperate rainforest where we live we can clearly see the benefits of a well watered mountainside. There is lush greenery in the summer that is rarely experienced in hot southern summers. You can travel just a short distance north, south, east and west from here and you notice the difference. We jokingly say we live in the best place but factually there is no place like this place anywhere else in the United States. All occuring within a little 20-25 mile radius of the place we call home.
The Word of the Lord has the exact same benefits upon the heart and soul of man. There are many places you may find yourself on your spiritual journey but there is no sweeter spot than a soul well watered with the Word of the Lord.
From a well worn Bible there will spring forth life that all may see. Today if things seem dry, maybe your soul feels a little dusty, and your heart is yearning for renewal, turn to the Word.
