Yesterday I needed to get a new key programmed to my truck. As I was waiting there was an older couple that came and sat in the waiting room with me. The gentleman and I were up looking at the cars in the showroom and up walked a salesman. He assumed we were father and son because the ages were close enough. He began to try and sell us a new truck. The older gentleman and myself quickly bonded over the ridiculous prices these days and we both started into “I remember when……”, the salesman didn’t stand a chance. 😊
After we successfully conquered our common enemy we sat down near his wife and began to talk. As the conversation wound around I asked him about his relationship with Jesus. Come to find out he and his wife were believers. They both are active in their church and still serving. They told me story after story of how God had worked in their lives and things He had allowed them to take part in during their life. The longer we talked the brighter their faces became. We didn’t talk about politics or sports or how much our broken bodies hurt. They just shared the blessings of a lifetime of service.
