Over the weekend dad had some breathing issues. They took him to the ER and got things settled. Turns out he has is starting some congestive heart failure and is now on full time oxygen. When we went to visit yesterday he was telling us all of the events that took place and how he couldn’t breathe. There is a newer resident there and her name is Mrs Geraldine. She is the sweetest lady and has an awesome family. As we were talking with dad she came by and said your dad had a rough time yesterday before they took him to the ER. She said I came over and sat beside him and patted his hand trying to help him calm down. Then she looked up and said I’ve been wondering why God allowed me to come here and now I know. He put me here just so I could help your dad yesterday. She smiled the biggest smile, turned in her wheelchair and left.
Mrs Geraldine in all of her difficulties realized God still had a plan for her. We may think sometimes our time is over or we have no longer have anything to give. As long as there is breath there is hope. As long as there is life God has a plan. May God give us the insight, faith, and hope of Mrs Geraldine.
